ABOUT ME

Şebnem: Farsi origin Turkish name meaning night (Şeb) dew (nem)

With over a decade of experience working alongside people affected by trauma—as well as my own lived experience—I’m here to offer you a safe, compassionate space to reconnect with yourself. My journey in support work began after completing an M.A. in Theory and Practice of Human Rights at the University of Essex in 2009, and I’ve since worn many hats, from artist and mental health support worker to domestic violence specialist. Each role has taught me how to nurture environments where you can feel safe, supported, and empowered to heal.

As a movement yoga facilitator, mindfulness coach, and Reiki practitioner, I believe in the incredible power of holistic, body-centered practices to make a difference in your life. I weave somatic movements, vagus nerve activation, and myofascial release into our sessions, offering you a way to release tension, reconnect with your body, and grow. Each session is crafted with your unique needs in mind, creating a nurturing space for exploration and self-discovery.

In my work, I frequently co-facilitate therapeutic groups with talking therapists, blending movement with conversation to provide well-rounded support. I also stay updated on the latest trauma-informed research through workshops and trauma-focused summits, and I receive regular clinical supervision to ensure the quality of care I bring to each session.

Based in London, UK, I offer both in-person and online sessions to make these practices accessible wherever you are.

In addition, my self-taught artistic background has allowed me to lead and coordinate creative and mental well-being projects funded by BBC Children In Need, Getting Hackney Healthy Fund, and Comic Relief. Skilled in designing needs-specific workshops, I bring extensive experience in facilitating creativity-centered and workplace wellness programs that promote resilience and personal growth.
